Waking Up to the Truth: My Journey Into the Enlighten Phase
The Day I Couldn’t Pretend Anymore
It didn’t happen during a meditation retreat.
It didn’t happen in a yoga class or under the stars in Bali.
It happened on a Tuesday morning, sitting in my car outside of work, hands gripping the steering wheel like it was the only thing keeping me together.
I remember thinking:
“If I go in there one more time and smile like everything’s fine, I might actually disappear.”
The truth hit me hard: I was living someone else’s life.
Following someone else’s rules.
Surviving, but not living.
That was the crack in the shell — the start of my Enlighten phase.
What the Enlighten Phase Really Is
When I first heard the word “enlighten,” I thought it meant glowing in white robes, floating above problems, and speaking in riddles about the meaning of life.
Nope.
For me, enlightenment started as an ache.
A quiet knowing that the way I’d been doing things wasn’t it anymore.
The Enlighten phase isn’t about perfection — it’s about finally seeing.
Seeing where I’ve been hiding behind busyness.
Seeing the patterns I inherited that never belonged to me.
Seeing that peace was possible… but only if I stopped outsourcing my happiness to things outside of me.
It’s like someone finally turned the light on in a messy room. It’s uncomfortable at first… but now you can see where to start cleaning.
The Signs You’re in the Enlighten Phase
Looking back, there were clear signals:
Discomfort in the familiar — even the things I used to enjoy felt hollow.
Heightened awareness — I noticed my thoughts, my breath, my body’s tension more than ever.
Spiritual curiosity — I started reading books, listening to talks, and asking questions I’d avoided for years.
And here’s the kicker — it wasn’t all bliss.
Sometimes I felt raw, emotional, and tired.
Other days, I felt bursts of joy for no reason at all.
The Tools That Made the Shift Real
I didn’t get here alone.
The practices I now live by came from finally reaching out for help — stepping into spaces like the Energy of Creation community where transformation is not only possible, it’s celebrated.
Here’s what anchored me in those first weeks:
1. SOMA Breathwork
The first time I experienced SOMA Breathwork, it felt like I’d been holding my breath my whole life without realizing it. It brought me back into my body, calmed my nervous system, and gave me a taste of peace I didn’t have to earn.
2. Sound Healing
Lying down, surrounded by the deep vibrations of crystal bowls, I felt years of tension unclench. The sounds bypassed my busy mind and spoke directly to my spirit.
3. Daily Reflection
Each morning, I’d write just one sentence: “What am I feeling right now?”
Sometimes the answer was “tired.”
Sometimes it was “hopeful.”
But each answer was mine — and that mattered.
Why the Enlighten Phase Is a Gift
It’s not comfortable.
It’s not easy.
But it’s the doorway.
In the Enlighten phase, you start to see that you are not your thoughts, your job title, or your past.
You begin to realize you have choices — real, soul-aligned choices — about how you live, love, and lead.
If You’re Here Right Now…
If you’re reading this and thinking, “Yep… this is me” — I want you to know something:
You’re not broken.
You’re breaking open.
That ache you feel? That’s your spirit stretching.
Those tears you’ve been holding back? That’s the river clearing a new path.
The Enlighten phase is the start of your personal revolution — the moment you stop living on autopilot and start living in alignment.
