Sober-Optional Events in Central Texas: What FSC Is and Why It Exists

April 04, 20267 min read

There's a gap in Central Texas.

You want to go out. You want to be social. You want to feel the energy of a room full of people who showed up on purpose. But you're tired of the bar. Tired of paying $14 for a drink you don't even really want. Tired of the next morning feeling like a small punishment for having had fun.

Or maybe you're not drinking right now. Or you never really were. And every social option seems to assume you are.

The Frequency Social Club exists because that gap is real — and a lot of people are standing in it quietly, wishing something different existed.

What Is FSC?

The Frequency Social Club is a sober-optional breathwork and music community series hosted by Energy of Creation, a nonprofit wellness organization based in Temple, Texas.

Each gathering brings together people from across Central Texas — Temple, Belton, Waco, Killeen, and beyond — for a guided SOMA breathwork experience, a live DJ set, and the kind of social connection that doesn't require a hangover to recover from.

It's free to join the FSC community. Events are $20 and tickets must be secured in advance — here's why that matters.

Why Tickets Only — No Walk-Ins

FSC isn't a standard breathwork class where you roll out a mat and close your eyes while ambient music plays through a speaker in the corner.

Every participant receives a personal audio headset. The SOMA Breath journey is guided through your own ears — the music, the vocal cues, the breath rhythm — all delivered directly to you, immersively. This is a significantly different experience than open-room breathwork, and it's one of the things that makes FSC worth coming back to every month.

Because of the headsets, we have a fixed number of spots. When they're gone, they're gone. Walk-ins aren't possible, and we can't make exceptions — there literally isn't a headset for you if you show up without a ticket.

Tickets are $20. Secure yours at energyofcreation.com/fsc before they sell out.

Why "Sober-Optional" Instead of "Sober"

Because the label matters.

"Sober event" in most people's minds reads as: recovery-adjacent, a little heavy, probably not that fun. And while we deeply respect recovery, FSC isn't a recovery event. It's just a social event that doesn't need alcohol to be great.

Sober-optional means: we don't serve it, we don't need it, and nobody is going to ask about your relationship with it. You can be sober, sober-curious, taking a break, or just someone who doesn't feel like drinking that particular Saturday. You belong here regardless.

What we've found is that the best nights out often have nothing to do with alcohol. They have to do with being truly present. With your nervous system actually online. With the music hitting different because you can actually feel it.

Breathwork through personal audio headsets does that. Better than most things, honestly.

What Happens at an FSC Event

Here's the honest breakdown of what a Frequency Social Club event looks and feels like.

You arrive at a venue somewhere in the Temple/Belton area. The space is set up for movement and presence, not performance. From there we being our LEARN - PRACTICE - SOCIAL.

LEARN

Most people don't have much experience about breathwork or why it's important to know about. We think that we've breathed all our lives, so there can't be much to it, and if you were anything like me in the beginning, you kinda don't get it. That's exactly what we're helping to change during this segment. You'll learn now only how to optimize your health, but learn how to build resilience, have better energy and get high on your own supply. Then everyone gets a headset and we move into our practice arena.

PRACTICE

This is when you actually get to experience a guided SOMA breathwork experience. This is the part people often aren't sure about before they come, and the part they talk about most afterward. The SOMA Breath journey runs 30 to 45 minutes. Rhythmic breathing, guided through music and vocal cues delivered directly through your headset, moving through phases of activation and deep stillness. Most people describe it as the most effective nervous system reset they've experienced — and the most unexpectedly fun. Then we shift into social hour.

SOCIAL

After the practice, the music stays on, herbal refreshments come out, and the social hour begins. What happens in that hour is why people keep coming back every month — the same faces, the same Saturday, a community that forms without anyone trying to force it.

Three hours total. One real shift.

Who FSC Is Built For

A few different people keep showing up, and all of them belong.

The person who left the club scene years ago and never found somewhere better to land. The entrepreneur who wants community but can't afford to spend Sundays recovering. The wellness-curious person who keeps saying they'll try breathwork and just needs a low-stakes way in. The person who's sober or sober-curious and tired of social events that make them feel like they're missing something. The BIPOC or queer person who wants to be in a room that was built with them in mind — not as an afterthought.

FSC was built for those people. BIPOC, queer, and neurodivergent folks are centered here, not mentioned in the fine print.

The April 11 Launch — And Why the First 50 Matter

The Frequency Social Club launches on April 11, 2026 in Temple, Texas.

The first 50 people who attend become FSC founding members. That matters because FSC is designed as a monthly home base, not a one-off event. The people in that first room are the ones who will know each other's names by month three, who will text each other about the breathwork, who will be the reason the next person keeps coming back.

Spots are limited by the number of headsets. Tickets are $20 and available now at energyofcreation.com/fsc. Location details are shared after you join FSC free, which takes about 30 seconds.

If you've been waiting for something different to exist in Central Texas, this is it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are FSC events only in Temple, Texas? Temple and Belton are our home base for now. We're watching Waco and other Central Texas communities as the series grows. Join free at energyofcreation.com/fsc to stay updated.

Why do I have to buy tickets in advance? Every FSC participant receives a personal audio headset for the immersive breathwork experience. We have a fixed number of headsets, which means a fixed number of spots. There is no walk-in option — if there's no headset for you, you can't participate in the practice. Secure your $20 ticket before they're gone.

I'm sober. Will I feel out of place? The opposite. FSC was built partly because of how much of the social world assumes everyone is drinking. You will feel more at home here than at most Saturday night options.

Is breathwork safe for beginners? Yes. FSC is specifically designed as an accessible entry point. You'll be guided through the entire experience through your headset and can adjust or rest at any point.

What do I need to bring? A yoga mat, blanket, or towel to lie on. Water. Comfortable clothes. Your headset and everything else is handled.

Who runs FSC? FSC is a community initiative of Energy of Creation, founded by Destinē The Leader and Victoria Thompson. Destinē is a certified SOMA Breath Transformational Coach and 500-hour yoga teacher. Victoria is a sound healer and Ayurveda practitioner. Together they've been building this community in Central Texas for years.

Tickets are limited. April 11 is close.
